A new Iasa Chapter for IT Architects in North Carolina’s Research Triangle

PRLog - July 10, 2015 - RALEIGH, N.C. -- Austin, TX, July 2015 – Iasa, the world’s largest IT Architecture professional association (www.iasaglobal.org) is excited to announce a new chapter in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The leadership team invites you to become part of the new community as well and celebrate the new beginnings at its inaugural event August 13th 2015, at 5:30pm at the NC State University’s Jane S. McKimmon Conference Center.

The chapter leadership team will introduce the chapter vision and planned programs and activities followed by keynotes from  Alex Seidita, Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Architect at MetLife; and Paul Preiss, CEO at Iasa Global.

During the second part of the event the audience will hear from industry leaders on API Strategies during an expert panel discussion.

As part of the chapter kick-off, attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions to all presenters prior to the event and meet the entire chapter leadership team. The event is open to the public and all IT and enterprise architects, aspiring architects and IT professionals are encouraged to attend.

The composition and experience of the leadership team reflects the significant representation of MetLife, who is the chapter’s foundation member and a global corporate member of Iasa.

The vision for the Raleigh chapter is to create a distinguished community for all IT architects and professionals and offering ongoing opportunities for certification, education and academia partnerships in the Research Triangle.

The chapter will also focus on thought leadership, collaboration, and a member community that can grow and learn from one another.

Heading up the Raleigh chapter is Phil Helm, Chapter president and Principal Software Engineer at MetLife. At MetLife, Phil provides technical guidance and leadership for both software projects and business operations across multiple lines of business units. He is currently leading the transformation of how MetLife delivers and promotes code through adoption of a continuous integration strategy. He also aligned the three primary branches (EIA, EAD and RAD) of technology at MetLife to establish the new Iasa chapter in Raleigh.

“The Triangle is a rapidly growing technology hub and will need quality architects to fill those gaps”, Phil explains. He continues, “Both the practitioner and the student will need a strong architecture skillset and this chapter intends to help develop it. We want to grow the profession and the individual architect.”

The chapter leadership team consists furthermore of:

John Walsh – Chapter Vice President, Patty Procknow – Director of Chapter Communications, Mike Helms – Chapter Director of Academia, Bhasker Patlolla – Chapter Director of Programs, Anthony Pinto – Chapter Director of Operations and Matthew Showers – Director of Content.


Board of Advisor members are executive chapter sponsor Alex Seidita – Chief MetLife Architect and Brian Blinco – Chief MetLife EAD Architect.
