The IT profession does not STOP and neither do we, ITABoK v3.0 in progress!

Posted By Jennifer King, Monday, February 15, 2016

One of the best parts of being a global association is that we can combine our efforts to further a singular theme.  As a member, you were introduced to the ITABoK (IT Architecture Body of Knowledge) v2.0 in July of last year.  In partnership with our members, we have continued on the road to providing our members the most up to date information possible.  This leads us to the ongoing development of v3.0!

Below you can begin to see how Iasa Global works closely in connection with our Chapter Leaders and members to not only document procedures, but also to facilitate firms with their hiring process of IT Architects.   Working groups are formed to update and develop ideas into the comprehensive tool which forms the ITABoK.  Take a look at the working groups in progress:

Tools and templates per capability: I envision 1+ downloadable template per capability that have been ITABoK branded but are freely modifiable, preferably with a worked example to guide usage - Imagine having a template for every task you do as an architect that is proven and conforms with the body of knowledge!! This alone will save thousands of wasted hours.

2.    Viewpoint library - worked examples of viewpoints - basically a one stop shop for examples of the viewpoints used in the real world as well as example architecture descriptions.

3.    A new engagement model - this would work for teams of 25-250. I would also like to see an agile add on to both the basic engagement model and enterprise engagement model. Again this should be people focused. What should an architect (based on specialization) be doing throughout the year?

4.    Trends and Techniques - this is the official Iasa position on things like IoT, Big Data, Agile, Cognitive, etc. Basically think of these as trends we are evaluating for our members with NO vendor spin.

If you would like to be a part of the change in the IT profession and would like to contribute to a working group, please email Jennifer King.
