Microservices and API Month at Iasa Global

Iasa Global is starting a new feature for the website and members. We have chosen this month as Microservices and API strategy month. We would like to ask you to contribute.

Speaking Opportunities:

We wanted to see if you would be interested in submitting a paper to speak at our October 21st e-summit on Microservices or APIs. The e-summit is an all day set of webinars held by key industry speakers for our membership. In past e-summits we’ve had over 700 attendees though the target is a more modest 200 or so. The sessions are 45 minutes plus questions and answers and preference in speakers will be given to case studies from practical application and/or best practices learned from actual deployments.

We already numerous possible speakers and we would be thrilled for you to submit a talk for consideration. Some the topics we are interested are:

Security in Microservices

Challenges of Microservices Architectures

Lessons from the Field

Business models for Microservices and APIs

Design patterns and antipatterns

Tool comparisons and techniques in Microservices and APIs

 

We are open to any topic you would like to suggest. If you are interested can you send us a brief writeup of your proposed topics. Selections will be made by the 2nd week in Oct.

Arch-a-thon Workshop Dry Run

End of September or Beginning October we will do a dry run of a subset of the Arch-a-thon Workshop for the MACC conference. We are planning a half day for this event even though the full workshop will be a whole day. We are looking for people interested in participating in the dry run and give feedback. As we finalize the day for this event we will create an actual registration event.

Here is the workshop agenda:

 

To provide participants with hands on practical skills in addressing a “Business problem” end to end from definition to solution using the architectural tools available.

The Archi-a-Thon workshop: defining, designing, mapping the business capability to technology solution from different architectures point of views.

Challenge:

Using architectural skills, experience and tools you will develop a solution model to a defined Business Problem.

Purpose:

To involve participants in delivering the practical value of architecture, and to engage in learning as part of a competitive team environment.

Outcomes:

  1. End to end understanding of the architecture process from multiple point of views

  2. Multiple architecture expert areas and motivational viewpoints explored.

  3. Team Presentation.

Prerequisite:

None.

Tools and Materials Needed:

      Laptop

      Archimate software tool (downloadable for free)

      Microsoft Office
